Pregnancy is a time when women are rightly wary of orthodox medicines, because of risks to the unborn child. Unfortunately, women often think they will just have to put up with common discomforts of pregnancy, but homeopathic medicines provide a safe alternative with no risk to mother or baby.

PRE-BIRTH CONSULTATIONS
Many women now know about the benefits of homeopathy in childbirth to reduce complications, and they hope to use homeopathic remedies during labour. They are even advised by their midwives to stock up on Arnica, because it reduces complications and speeds healing afterwards.
But I recently heard from a midwife that she has encountered women coming into hospital with their homeopathic birth kit unopened and the instructions unread.
It can come as a surprise when the midwife tells you the remedies and when and how you take them in hospital are entirely your responsibility - because labour is not the best time to be wondering which remedy to take!
I will talk you through the contents of the Helios birth kit and familiarise you with the remedies and when to use them. You can come alone or bring a birth partner of your choice, or bring a pregnant friend and share the cost.
You will also receive a handout to remind you on the day. It's suitable any time during the pregnancy, but if you have been consulting your homeopath throughout the pregnancy, he or she might be prepared to attend the birth.
